The CPI(M) faces severe political heat following the announcement of a Crime Branch preliminary probe against former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter Veena T., and son-in-law P.A. Mohamed Riyas over the CMRL-Exalogic transaction. The investigation focuses on allegations by central agencies linking the payments to illegal gratification and potential hawala channels. With digital records coming under scrutiny, the CPI(M) maintains that it will counter the proceedings both legally and politically.
